“Kwon Song hee ”
Kwon Songhee, singer of Kwon Songhee Pansori LAB, started pansori at the age of eight and received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Korean traditional music at Hanyang University. And Doctoral Course completion at Seoul National University College of Music . Her interests in changjak pansori (newly created pansori) started early on. She was an actor, songwriter, and director of ‘Taroo’ (Korean traditional musical troupe), and a member of world music band ‘Tan+Emotion.’ She established Pansori LAB in order to create her own changjak pansori. Kwon Songhee was selected as a fellow of <One Beat Residency>, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, and Teaterformen Festival in Germany. Moreover, Kwon has performed internationally and collaborated with OKKyung Lee, cellist based in the USA and Europe, and Marie-Helene, contemporary music composer in France. Although Kwon focuses on changjak pansori, she has broadened her repertoire, including traditional pansori, Korean/international contemporary music and collaborative work with world music musicians. Kwon Songhee is an extraordinary singer who suggests a new form of pansori with contemporary feelings and styles while keeping the essence of pansori.

권송희는 서편제 영화를 본 후 8살때부터 판소리를 배웠다. 일찍이 창작 판소리에 관심을 갖고 국악뮤지컬집단 ‘타루’에서 배우 및 작창감독을 지내고 이후 자유국악단 ‘타니모션’에서 활동했다. 이후 권송희 창작 판소리 프로젝트를 본격적으로 진행하기 위해 판소리 LAB을 만들었다. 또한 영화 음악감독이자 씽씽의 프로듀서였던 장영규를 중심으로 만들어진 ‘이날치’ 맴버이다. 권송희는 미국 국무부가 지원하는 원비트 레지던시(One Beat residency) 초청, 독일 씨어터 포맨 페스티벌(Teaterformen Festival)에 펠로우로 선정되었으며, 미국 유럽을 무대로 활동 중인 첼리스트 이옥경, 프랑스 현대음악 작곡가 마리 헬레네(Marie-Helene) 등과의 협업 작업을 하며 국내는 물론 국제 무대로 활동영역을 넓혀 나가고 있다. 창작판소리에 집중하면서도 전통 판소리 공연을 올리기도 하고, 국내외 현대음악, 월드뮤직 뮤지션과의 협업 등 다채로운 활동을 펼치고 있다. 권송희는 판소리 본질을 흐트러뜨리지 않으면서도 동시대의 감성과 형식으로 새로운 스타일의 판소리를 제시하는 특별한 보컬리스트이다.
